About your dog trainer & walker

Hello! I’m Kayla, a Certified GoodPup Trainer and a Fear-Free Certified Professional. I am currently enrolled in the Karen Pryor Academy’s Certified Dog Professional Program set to graduate mid-August 2025. I am first and foremost a dog lover and a dog guardian to my sweet rescue, Dutchy. I am dedicated to force-free, positive reinforcement, and science-backed training techniques. My goal is to help you and your dog live a stress-free life, including throughout your training experience.

My training journey started with my late dog, Kona. Kona was a reactive dog with aggressive tendencies and severe resource guarding. Through my experience with her, I dove deep into the wonderful world of canine cognition, canine behavior, and dog training. I am committed to continued education in order to help dogs and humans live their best lives together. Over the years, I’ve volunteered at both ACC and Second Chance Rescue walking and helping dogs without homes, something I care about deeply.

Prior to dog training, my passion has always been teaching and helping people! I developed my teaching skills through tutoring math and science for 10 years. During that time, I have learned how to adapt methods and topics to many people of all ages and knowledge levels. Whether math, science, dogs, or even jigsaw puzzles (my obsession!), I am here to help you learn in the way that works best for you.

My training will help you enrich you and your dog’s life, empower you to train with your dog, and lastly and most importantly, help you enjoy the world together.
